The PGL Rabbit Sexing DNA Test is a reliable, non-invasive method for determining the sex of your rabbit with a scientifically proven high accuracy. Using advanced PCR-based DNA testing on a simple buccal (cheek) swab, this service removes the guesswork from rabbit sexing, particularly useful for young rabbits, where visual examination can be difficult and unreliable.
Rabbits carry XX sex chromosomes (females) or XY sex chromosomes (males). Our test detects the presence or absence of the Y chromosome from the DNA collected in your swab sample, giving you a definitive result.

Accurate sexing of rabbits is more difficult than many owners and breeders expect. In young kits, the external genitalia are not fully developed and can appear very similar in both sexes, making even experienced breeders prone to error.
