Foresight Health® Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia

Our Foresight Health® single test for Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia is ideal for breeders and owners who want the reassurance of genetic health testing.

Our DNA test results are accepted by the Kennel Club.

The guideline turnaround time for single tests is approximately 10-12 working days after the swab arrives at the lab.

If you need more than two tests it is often more cost-effective to order the relevant Foresight Health® breed package.

Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) causes malformed or immovable cilia which are hair-like structures in the respiratory and digestive systems. Affected dogs suffer with respiratory problems from birth with coughing, sneezing and infections, as well as  sperm immobility in males causing infertility. Management of respiratory infections usually allows affected dogs to live a normal life.

An autosomal recessive condition caused by a mutation in the CCDC39 gene.
