Description

Myotonia Congenita (MC) is a muscle disorder which causes muscles to remain contracted after use. This usually shows when puppies start to walk with a stiff and uncoordinated gait but doesn't seem to cause pain and affected dogs usually have a normal lifespan.

An autosomal recessive condition caused by a mutation in the CLCN1 gene.
