Description

Globoid Cell Leukodystrophy (GCL) or Krabbe disease is a lysosomal storage disease which affects an enzyme during metabolism. From around six months of age signs include muscle weakness, lack of coordination, and body tremors. Progression can lead to blindness, paralysis, and death.

An autosomal recessive condition caused by a mutation in the GALC gene.
