The I-Locus is a region of your dog's DNA which controls the intensity of colour of the phaeomelanin or yellow/red pigment which is expressed through the E-locus.

Your dog's coat colour intensity will only be affected if your dog is e/e on the E-Locus and thus expressing the yellow coat pigment.

The coat colour intensity is affected by mutations on the MFSD12 gene.

Results:

Your results will be reported as one combination of the I-locus alleles with the following interpretations.

I/I - higher intensity - yellow/red
I/i - higher intensity - yellow/red
i/i - reduced intensity - cream/white
